IMPORTANT: What you need to bring to the train station?
You MUST bring the following items with you in order to board the Chamber's chartered train and for admission to the reception:
- Your name badge - you will receive a name badge and metro pass in the USPS mail. This name badge will serve as your ticket to board the train and attend the reception.
- Photo ID - no one will be allowed to board the train without a photo ID which matches your name badge and registration information.
- Business cards - bring plenty. You will need them.
How early should I get to the train station?
Please arrive 45 minutes before the train is scheduled to depart from your station. There will be a chamber employee and at least one security guard at each train station to monitor the boarding gate, organize the boarding process and answer your questions.
Name badges and photo ID will be required to board the train. Please have them out and ready when boarding. If you do not comply, you will not be allowed to board – no exceptions.
How do I get to the Hotel from Union Station in Washington?
The Chamber does not provide transportation to the Omni Shoreham. Each attendee has been provided with a SmarTrip card (courtesy of Wells Fargo) to use the DC Metrorail system. Follow the signs in Union Station to find the Metro. Take the Metro Red Line to the Woodley Park Zoo Station (24th St. and Connecticut Ave. Northwest). The Omni Shoreham is located near the station. There are also cabs and popular ride sharing options available at the train station, which can be used at your own expense. Ask any Chamber employee to guide you.
How long does it take to get to Hotel from Union Station in Washington?
About 15 minutes.
Upon arrival at the Omni Shoreham, keys for reserved rooms should be picked up at the Hotel Registration Desk located in the main lobby. If you are a last minute substitute for a room reservation made in another person’s name, you should pick up your room key at the desk according to the alphabetical listing of the person you are replacing. Or, inform the hotel of the change.
What time does train get into Washington?
The train is scheduled to arrive at Washington’s Union Station at 3:30 p.m., but the exact time could vary depending on Amtrak’s rail traffic that day and / or other variables such as the weather.
What time does the reception begin?
The reception begins at 5 p.m. in the Blue Room and a dessert extravaganza will follow immediately afterwards.
What time does the return train leave Friday morning?
Our charter Amtrak train will depart Union Station around 11:40 a.m. and pull into Newark around 3:11 p.m. Make sure to get to Union Station 45 minutes prior to departure.

Please note: Tickets for the Chamber’s special train cannot be used on any regularly scheduled Amtrak train nor can they be redeemed by Amtrak.

What is the late cancellation policy?
A $25 administrative fee will be assessed to all cancellations. Refunds will only be issued for cancellations requested by Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. Call the NJ Chamber at 609-989-7888 with any cancellation requests.

The Walk to Washington obtained its name when folks realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk up and down the aisle the whole way to Washington, networking and exchanging business cards.
